Thanks for the thought about directionality, which I have not yet considered in comparing resistors.

At this point I'm most interested in the comparison of types of nude Vishay to each other-- not so much in comparison of nude Vishay to other types. I suspect these two types sound very close. As the S102K is good & expensive, the query regarding the TX2575 comes down to the always elusive matter of diminishing returns.
