Using 3-phase passive devices with single-phase power?

I am aware that three single-phase transformers can be wired to function as a 3-phase transformer bank, but is the reverse also true? Can a 3-phase transformer or 3-phase noise filter be wired so as to be useful for single-phase operation? I ask because sometimes here in Tokyo I see very nice 3-phase isolation transformers and noise filters practically being given away, while their single-phase counterparts seem to be in greater demand and thus more expensive.* Also, I just happen to have a huge and very high quality 3-phase noise filter that might be good to use to protect my entire house if I could find a way to use it with single phase power. (I would hire an electrician to install it rather than trying to do it myself.)

Thanks in advance for any answer(s).

* Example: a 200V:200V 3-phase 12kVA "noise zero" transformer that looks like it is built to the state of the art and is ensconced in a heavy-duty stainless steel case. I could derate the thing by half and still protect my entire home with it.
