jea's correct. It's kinda pointless to surge protect only your electric mains while ignoring the cable TV/internet/phone wiring. In the event of a strike, every component on those cables will fry too.

Do a net search on grounding techniques and read up on the topic. I wish I had the sites handy as it was a real education.
