Make a lens out of cheap sunglasses

For my Pass Labs gear, which has recessed LEDs in holes machined into the faceplates, I cut and filed a cheap pair of old sunglasses with plastic lenses into nice neat little round circles the size of the LED holes and shoved 'em in. Didn't take that long to do -- I just sat and rubbed the piece on a file after cutting it down to about the right size with wire snippers while listening to music -- maybe 30 minutes each. Reduced the brightness by well over half.

Of course, cheap-Jack has the best solution by just placing a higher resistance in line, but this isn't always practical...
