See, now you're askin' reasonable, practical questions. I'm sure the stock 5300 is going to do a nice job for good-quality two-channel TV/movie duty. In fact, it's already been doing a fine job. It looks like a simple, accessible amplifier (it was also very inexpensive), and so I thought it might make a fun/easy amplifier to tweak. I was just wondering whether folks'd done any playing around with this amplifier, and if so, what the results were/are.I should hook it up to my main audio system and see how it does/familiarize myself/get a benchmark with the amp.
Good you saw the other thread. The noise is a buzzing; there's no hum noise. Maybe I'm getting some 60Hz noise from the line? Maybe it's the TV line-level output connection. The noise is hardly objectionable; it's hardly audible. I'm just curious whether something might be a bit amiss with the amplifier. Connecting to my main system as a quick check just seems too sensible a thing to do, doesn't it. I'll do this soon.
