If the schematic has pin mumbers on it then you could verify pinout with it. BTW, yes pinout refers to the logical mapping of the pins. I suspect the parts you seek were old wide body or non RoHS packages that went obsolete at some point. Usually the pinout will be identical among the various dual row inline packages. You could try contacting your local rep for help. It is a local reps job to help customers answer these questions an act as the liason between the little guy and the manufacturer.
