4.7uF Mundorf silver/oil is $100/each and silver/gold $170. I really don't think these prices are reasonable myself.
However, I'll bet you your preamp doesn't *really* need 4.7uF once you do some calculations. It likely can use much lower value uF.
BTW, I find Hovlands to sound kind of... hard/forwardish without much "air." A nice smaller smooth/extended bypass cap over the Hovland *may* smooth out and extend the sound, though.
