"Glass Passivated" diode question

I ordered some diodes from Mouser many years ago when the "super duper fast diode" thing first started. I never used them, and just found them in an old box I was going through.

Mouser still sells them (link to data sheet below) and I'm wondering if they're ok to use as rectifier diodes in a 12 VDC power supply I'm building. I'm not asking if they're the best, simply if they'll work. I know the voltage and amperage are ok. It's the "glass passivated" part that I'm not familiar with.

Would these work in place of something like a 1N4001? I understand they're 2 amp vs. 1 (for the 4001), but disregarding that, will they function the same otherwise, doing simple rectification duty?

Thanks.
