Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I've clipped the wire to LEDs before in a Bryston 4BSST amp and it had a surprisingly audible effect. I originally stumbled across this tweak from Ric Schultz at EVS. I know not everyone "believes" in this, and that's fine, but I do.I have a brand-new Scott Nixon USB TubeDac (UFO version) that has two BLINDING LEDs on the front, and I'd really love to get rid of them. I asked Scott to disable them for me, but he wasn't up for it. Is it possible that clipping the leads to these LEDs could disable the unit (or have any other deleterious effects)? They aren't integral to the circuit, are they? One lights up when the power cable is inserted, the other lights up when the usb cable is inserted. Thank you very much in advance for any input.
