I recently shortened up the cord on my Monster Power strip. I cut off the existing plug and put on a Marinco 8215 ("Hospital grade"). It was pretty easy to do, the wires were color coded on the cord and the marinco plug. I also installed a Hubbell "Hospital grade" 8200 outlet. Cleaned all AC plugs and contacts with Caig deoxit. I was happy with the results of this 30 dollar tweak. Things were a bit more quiet and cleaner all around, and the most apparent difference was differentiation of the cello section with classical music. I long ago installed a dedicated outlet with the a decent quality AC receptacle, but the Hubbell was an upgrade. It grips the Marinco plug tight as a clam. Both these items should'nt be too hard to find and the price is right. I have read here that some feel the Hubbell outlets are among the best at any price, also some strong proponents of the Marinco.....I'll add myself to them. Hope this helps you.
