I'm just getting this one up and running, hence the temporary chassis. Dac board on the left. Twin tda1541 NOS. Dac board comes assembled. Tube board is switchable 6dj8 or 6c45, currently running the former. Rectifier tube can be EZ80 or 6x4. Tube board comes unassembled, but complete with parts. Kit comes with pretty much everything. Chassis is optional, but is too small for my taste. I upgraded the AC and digital cable to VHAudio, and the analog cable is Audio Consulting silver solid core.

You mentioned USB, and the nice thing about this dac is that it already has designated pads on the dac board because many folks who had input to this dac usd cd-pro kit that outputs i2s. Others have already installed Doede's usb-to-i2s board with reportedly excellent results.

This is v2 available from Thomas (tube-lover) on diyaudio. v2 is winding down, and v3 is forthcoming. The support is not as responsive nor are there any instructions beyond schematics and pcb pdfs. Quite a few helpful experienced builders though.
