tonearm re-wire - Silver or Cardas?

Hello. Next project is likely to be rewiring the tonearm on the Thorens, (plus damping etc).
What are the sonic tradeoffs between using silver wire and Cardas tonearm wire? Right now, all my other tonearms have silver wire, and I like the sound. But, I've never tried the Cardas wire.
Whats a good source for silver wire? I can easily find the cardas wire, but have not found a DIY source for teflon coated silver wire useable for a tonearm - less than 30 guage.
I'm also trying to decide between an RCA box on back, or SME style DIN connector underneatch.
