Initial impressions of QuickSilver Gold contact enhancer

Intrigued by a few glowing reviews, I recently purchased the "formula 3" version of Brian Kyle's QuickSilver Gold contact enhancer. I finally got to apply it to my main and secondary rigs a few days ago. Though the Gold isn't fully hardened or burned in yet, I thought it was a good enough time to post at least initial impressions.

After speaking at length with Brian, I wasn't expecting much out of the box, but I was pleasantly surprised. To get an idea for what the Gold was doing, I first listened to my main system, which was treated extensively with Walker Audio's excellent Extreme SST. I then wiped the SST off the RCA cables connecting my preamp to my amplifiers, and applied the Gold. I then listened.

This preliminary A-B was very encouraging. The Gold yielded a significantly wider and deeper soundstage than the Extreme SST, as well as producing more overall resolution and better, more natural timbre on voices and instruments. The most obvious improvement was in terms of "vivdness" and overall energy. Music sprang to life in a way that it just didn't with the SST. The stage moved a little forward, but not in an unpleasant way. In fact, the extra energy and punchier presentation were quite welcome on the type of music I listen to (mostly rock).

Sufficiently impressed, I moved on to the male ends of my AC plugs. Again, I heard the same basic differences. I think Brian has a real winner on his hands with the QuicKSilver Gold. I'll report back as the paste breaks in more, but my initial results are HIGHLY encouraging. If it sounds this good out of the box, I can't wait to hear it in a few weeks!
