Re: Mixing tubes in the same family?

Different brands will sound different but so will a brand new tube vs one with hours on it. If you where using 3 power tubes of one kind and 1 of another chances are one channel will sound different. You might not even notice till you get it all matched up again that it was not at it's best. Of course the chances that your amp is exactly the same on both sides are way down there but that is why there is so much tolerance built in. The answer to if it could sound better is YES. Always. The trick is to remember to listen to the music and not your gear. Some get lost in the tweaks and are never seen again.
