I have a set of the Sv 6550's and the Ei kt-90's which are used in 100W monos. If you are looking for more powerful bass the kt-90's are hands down the champ. Like everything else though there are tradeoffs. The sv 6550 has a more detailed and open high end. The kt-90 has a more liquid midrange. the sv 6550 a more coherent (linear) presentation. To my ears there seems to be phase anomalies with the kt-90 which lessen the "realness" of the image. What we need is a tube with the bass of the 90, the mids of the kt-88 and the highs of the 6550.
