The irritation came from verbose misinformation on your behalf, confusing the newbies. Ed is correct-read the Madisound archives for more info. I have never perceived you as a flame bait, but apparently coming to a tube site and questioning the foundation of this amplification medium is in poor taste. I would have kept my keyboard quiet, but I do not feel the MAD people were childish in the least.Yes, there are some lousy tube amps,yes, there are some lousy SS amps, and yes there are excellant examples of both.Yes, a nice one will blow away that Adcom you have, no many tube amps will not properly drive ESL's but some will. This is a moderated forum I have recently discovered, since I don't want to be kicked off I will refrain from any further posts in this thread-you of course can have the last word::p:::
