I've used the GE 6680. Think it's a selected 12AU7 for low-noise. Tone-wise = blah. I have not heard or seen a 6670.
As for tone... the CBS-Hytron 5418A and 7316 are my standards, as US tubes. Philips, S/H, Valvo E82CC or TFK ECC802S, as European made tubes.
