Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Hi guys, first post very happy to have found the forum. I recently came into possession of nice looking Valvo 6201 gold pins, blue lettering and pinched waist. Other than its in the 12at7 family I don't know much about it. Only been into tubes for about a year and mainly using for guitar amps. What is this tube best suited for? History? On my Orange vt1000 tester I got reading of "good" with T1=7 and T2=6 Is this tube half worn out? It looks mint condition. Others I've seen have most of logo gone. Little info I have found has said its Valvo version of a TFK ECC801s? Also the squeezed glass is a defect and others say lowers noise? Heard possibly was for communication use and early computer tube for on off cycling? Any info would be appreciated and thoughts on use in guitar amp. Possible PI v3 position use maybe?
