I am using the new G.L. KT88s in my SLI-80 F1, and like them better than the E.H.; smoother, warmer (but not too warm), more meat on the bones of violins, cellos, everything. But I keep it in triode mode at all times (and I'm running Thiel!).
I would be tempted to buy the winged-C 6550 just to hear them. Did I hear that they are closing the plant in St. Petersburg?
