I like the CV4003 Mullard...warm, with top end roll off and less delineation in the below 150ish HZ range.
Compared to an RCA cleartop, the Mullard is not as open or transparent, but nicer on the high end to the ear. The CV491 Brimar is about halfway between the two tubes with good transparency, extension and a liquid warmth.
