How a tube "sounds" can be a function of the operating conditions. So you are correct that there is no best tube; but there is sometimes a "best" operating point. Just knowing the equipment is not enough information. So for example I run my 5670s at Ep = 135V, Ip = 4mA, Eg = -2.5V with a plate load of 39k ohms. I find the sound to be neutral and well balanced at this operating point and primarily use the Sylvania. If your 5670s sound too bright you may find a different operating point improves the sound.
