Home Tubes Asylum

Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ

For me this hobby has always been about the music.

Getting close to how much fun it is live.

[We went to a concert last Thursday night by the Australian Haydn Ensemble Search google for reviews. I've even recorded them a few times. They are very exciting to listen to, and the sound is quite beautiful. I much prefer HIP groups anyway ;-).]

Secondly only, how recording and reproduction work, particularly in our difficult L-shaped lounge dining room, which is acoustically leaky to boot.

? sliding doors. A single and double.

When I think about upgrades or major changes, I do just that for a good while.

House is > 40 years old.

Recently, TomServo has been a useful guide as has Duke Lejeune to getting my plans right for the move to QUAD 63s plus subs.

I am fortunate to have plenty of old gear.

Viz I now have two pairs of the 'sphere 3s, which get down to 35Hz and will use them in a "swarm" arc until I finish the DIY sealed clam-shell driver subs and then build two TL subs for the KEF B139s I've been gifted

Email me, eh? :-)

Right now I am listening to Melvyn Tan being interviewed on our national public ABC Classic FM network.
