Even good quality American made sockets require retensioning if they have been used a lot.
IMHO, tube sockets are not designed for constant tube rolling. Manufacturers try to design a piece of gear that lasts without constant servicing.
I see lots of amps made in the 50's and 60's with original tubes, still working great. I also see amps made recently with worn out sockets.
