I recently built a prototype amplifier in a similar configuration. In my case, it's a low power cathode-follower SET amplifier for headphones. The output tubes have exposed anode caps, so I grounded the anodes and connected the output transformers at the cathodes. That eliminates the possibility of contacting either AC or DC above the chassis. The disadvantage to this arrangement is that is requires either a separate positive supply for the driver/preamp stages, or an input capacitor to isolate the negative grid of the input stage from the outside world. I haven't yet decided whether to pursue this in a final version, or just ground all the cathodes and build a cage for the tubes. Anyway, this wouldn't be advantageous with 6BQ5s, so I don't know why an amplifier manufacturer would go to the trouble. Sorry I can't identify the amp for you, I wasn't aware this had ever been done commercially. Got any photos of the amp?
