Premium 6922 and 6DJ8s are commonly available for $100 dollars or less if you spend some time and look around. What are the reissue Gold Lions like $60 bucks?
Go to any hamfest and you will pick up lots of these tubes for $20 each. Don't be afraid to buy used, new testing tubes at a substantial discount also.
Frankly I find decent new reissues hideously expensive for what you get, and the cheaper new issues mostly sound like dung.
