Not sure what the big deal is here. The EH 7868 tube is great. I've had a matched quad in my Fisher 400 since 2004 without any issues. I have a backup quad from McShane but at this rate it may take me quite a while to get to them.
Sure, they stretch out the socket but if you want to go backward, you can retension the socket pretty quickly with a toothpick.
