The Sherwood 5000 uses 7189s. That 6BQ5/EL84 "on steroids" allows 20 WPC to be extracted.There is "magic" in several (all?) "12" W. multi-grid power O/P tube types.
The 6V6 family is excellent in both UL and pentode modes, while being superb triode wired.
The EL821/6CH6 is another very nice tube, whose NOS is reasonably affordable.
The Russian 6П15П (6p15p), AKA SV83, is good triode wired, but screen grid fragility makes UL mode highly problematic. Full pentode mode, with regulated g2 B+, is fine.
