I recently recapped a Heath SA-2 for a friend who is going to use it on Altec Valencia speakers.
After putting down the soldering pencil, I thought I'd give the SA-2 a try on my Quad ESL-57's.
I was amazed that this little amp drove the Quads to very decent output levels using it's 16-ohm tap, with very lush sound. My old Stereo 70 didn't do as well. (But my Citation II does better...much.)
Anyway, a heck of a little EL84 amp is the Heathkit SA-2.
