So, the LED lights when the bias is set "just right plus a skosh".
Presumably, that means that the LED turns on when a voltage reaches a certain level; one guess would be that this is the voltage across a resistor, and indicates some optimal bias current (xx mA).
But if I can't make a KT-77 "light" the LED, is that purely a function of this tube, or can the need to replace *other* tubes (eg, the 12AX7 input and 6SN7 driver tube) be a reason that the KT-77s behave this way?
