Notice all the resistors that Mike changed.
He didn't change these "just because". The resistors in these amps drift in excess by 20-30%. Not good, especially in the phase splitter circuit!
Don't convince yourself that your old Mcintosh needs to stay original and sounds good, they don't perform anywhere near specifications without these updates!
