I have a couple old TVs I restored, philco predicta for example... nobody is going to argue that tube video looks better but it's fun to work on, and I like watching it. The predicta even came with a Mullard el84 audio output. In a TV from the 1970s the only usable audio tubes you'd find may be a 6CG7 or some 6GH8s if you happen to have the dynaco which uses them. By then most makers had switched to compactrons specifically designed for tv service rather than the general purpose tubes in earlier sets which have cross over audio applications.
