You could get them both, and experiment with their position, that is, the gain and cathode follower positions. The gain tubes will have the most effect on the sound. The RCAs are warmer, the Sylvanias have a bit more frequency extension.
Based on my system- Rogue 99, Atlas, Zu Omen. The tubes are early 50's Sylvania GTAs, mid 50's Syl GTBs, and early 50's RCA GTs (bottom getter).
The Cary (like my Rogue) is also a zero feedback design. You'll really hear the difference in tube designs!
Make sure they're noise tested from a very reputable seller.
