Good write-up, Mendel. I did not mean to suggest the garden-variety Syls were somehow bad tubes. Quite the contrary, and your advice is very sound. Top getter GTA's are a danged good value for what they usually go for. I no longer have gear that uses 6SN7's and hadn't checked eBay (a.k.a. The Den of Thieves) for them in quite a long time. I was stunned when I did a drive-by over there this morning at how many sellers were calling virtually anything with the Syl name on it a Bad Boy.
