Letting the AVR set the balance between speakers puts the fronts and rears at -10db per the AVR. Perhaps it's even less than 1v. Yamaha is not forthcoming with their specs.
But I will say it sounds fantastic, I just have to crank up the volume to reach normal listening levels.
