This type of amp (SETs) are known for their sweet and pure sound. most of that is usually mid range centric but 845 tubes can deliver reasonable mid bass. It is not an amp I would recommend for grunge, rock, metal, acid etc. music. It could work as Triode Kingdom wrote if you choose very high efficiency/sensitivity speakers mostly horn designs and even then I would tell you to get a powered sub woofer. That said it push pull amps are probably what you need. It may be a great buy and you might want to own an SET amp anyway and an 845 is a tube I like a lot for it's rich sound. Perhaps a second system??
