The CV2493 is a very atypical Mullard. It even has it's own type designation of E88CC-01. The sound is crystal clear, a real clean signal, and it has very good imaging properties as well. It is not overly warm, muddy, slow, or has any other undesirable Mullardly property. The problem is finding them. At one point Upscale Audio had them. Tango Tubes in Europe also had them at one point I believe.
The CV2492 is a very different tube but is another Mullard 6922 tube. I don't know enough about the CV2492 to recommend it.
