Type and brand that you choose is soooooo dependent on your other electronics, speakers, and sonic preferences. For a little added bass I have used new production Tong-sol 6550's. For a little less upper bass but very clean mids and highs I have used Sovtek KT88's. I actually like the Sovteks which I have used for years and presently use in a Dialogue One integrated. I also used the Sovteks in my Prologue One. FWIW I have a warm(er) system which benefits from the balance of the Sovtek, I think. Both are very cost effective. Also don't forget the impact of the 12AX7's and how much they can affect the sound of the power tubes you select. What you have in it now may not be the best choice after the change.
