Thanks for asking and I have only tried 9 pin dual triodes. Haven't found a truly go to, favorite tube yet, but I did like the Raytheon Windmill gettered 5751 best so far. Jeremy says he is moving away from the higher signal tubes because of their tendency to be noisy.
I would like to tell you more about the Ember but not in a public forum.
Yes the Al. top plate looks good, but I never have placed too much on appearances.
