Little Bear P5 - tube rolling?

I need to upgrade the playback capability of my desktop computer. This is strictly music, I am not a gamer. I have come to the conclusion that the computer speaker market is a dead end for what I want. Given the amount of audio odds and ends I have sitting around the house it seems silly not to use "real" audio for my purposes.

The missing link is between DAC output and amplifier. The proposed signal path is:

PC S/PDIF Optical
LiTe DAC A/H
???
Adcom GFA-535/II
Wharfdale Diamond 7.2 (possibly a subwoofer later)

I'm looking at a Little Bear P5 to use as a preamp and volume control. For the $40 price it seems like a no brainer for a fun little put together valve unit.

My question would be about the tubes. It is built around a pair of 6J1. Given the price point of the whole thing it stands to reason that there really should be better tubes one could use.

Any suggestions on what to roll in this thing?
