I agree with Eli, RCA tubes from the 50s and 60s are pretty much all very good. In fact, you could say the same of GE and Sylvania as well. Vintage U.S. tubes rock and are fully competitive with the fancy ass Mullards, Telefunkins, and Siemens from Europe. Of course this is a very general statement, there are some great European tubes. But U.S. tubes from this era are still easy to find and relatively affordable, particularly small signal tubes. I would rather have one of these than a "premium" new production tube for about the same money. Get them while you can. One day new production will be the only game in town.
