It would be tough to beat the voicing provided by the original tubes. As I understand it, they all come from the late Ken Shindo's private stash of NOS.
I have an Aurieges pre-amp. If I opened it up, I'm sure the NOS tubes inside would be of the unattainable variety( other than from Shindo). It wouldn't surprise if the stenciling was removed in fact. If you know the tube compliment aside from the known 6V6, you're ahead of the game. If you're the original owner, you could request a replacement set thru Tone Imports/Shindo. If not, knowing the tube compliment is the key. With that you can experiment away. Good luck......Mick Wolfe
