Hi Kyle, cathode buffer is unity gain, AFAIK. No gain. I'd leave the 5670 out of the pre-amp --- as long as you have no impedance matching issues (which I don't think you have).
You may want to think about a DIY stand alone reverb or OD unit.
A nice kit is the DIY Matchless Hotbox clone.
