Tube dampeners reduce microphonics.
Mostly it is a good thing.
I have upon occasion found it bad.
Once I put them on all my tubes
and it really deadened the sound.
Too much of a good thing I guess.
And on another occasion,
I installed them on the 6SL7s
and lost the air on the highs.
As I said on another asylum -
it all comes down to synergy.
Anything can be good or bad.
It is system dependent.
