I was playing around with my VTA ST-70's center driver tube. I replaced the center GE 12AU7 with a RCA 5963. Just wanted to try it out.
And I may be imagining this but both sounded slightly difference with and without the tube dampening rings?????
Not a great deal or anything I could even describe. Just something was a tad different. I didn't go into this with any anticipation. I just had the dampeners and wanted to use them dampeners.
