I am NOT advocating the idea, I am more in the the "just listen to it" camp. Having said that I have found with other complex systems (not necesarilly electronics but complex processes) that the system changes over time until it reaches a plateau of relative non-variance, a settling in. I do not see why a relatively complex electronic system should not do the same.
To my ears small signal tubes definetly 'burn in' over an 80 to 100 hour time frame. I am completely happy to accept that it may be I who am "burning in' to the sound of the tubes as opposed to the tubes changing; I ,after all, am part of the complex system.
Alvin and the Chipmunks, have not tried that yet; may have to.
