Had an SA3000 for a really long time. Virtually every mod Mike Elliott ever offered for it was done to it by the time I sold it. Anyway, I listened to a boat load of different 6DJ8 types in it over 18 years, and my favorites ended up being Tele 6922's. The Teles are still my all around fav's. For me they're just the right balance of detail, top/bottom extension and tone. Others that spent longer than most in rotation include Siemens 7308's and the lowly Bugle Boy. There's something about the tone of the BB's that I'm very fond of even though they under-perform, IMO, in other areas.
