If the sound degrades when changing amps the solution is to change the amp ,not the source. This is pretty obvious, unless you wish to start endless path of "upgrades". That may be a part of the hobby but not cheap...
The problem is more likely a amp speaker mismatch, or simply that the PL is inferior to the Classe.
Hifi mag review are kidna useless, trust your own ears, but check stereophiles technical test data too see if you are buying well engineered product or not.
