RE: Failing and Exploding EH 7591s

What is a "concertina" phase splitter? Just curious, are they different from other phase splitters? I have a Consonance EL -34 based integrated that used 12AT7s if I remember correctly, although it also had 6SN7s in the preamp section which I think were called drivers for the output tubes.
