The market for tubes by musicians is about ten times the size of the audiophile market. The only place audiophiles out-buy musicians is in the boutique tube market. Psvane, KR, and the like, and odd tubes like 845's 211 and 300B's. But for EL34's,6L6's,12AX7's etc musicians buy far more.
There is also a popular belief that modern output tubes don't last as long in guitar amps as in hifi amps. With a few exceptions that too is not necessarily true. Guitar amps, despite often very high plate voltage, they are not driven anywhere near their max dissipation. HiFi amps often are.
