snip: Most used tubes have problems of one sort or another. That is so way out of whack untrue.
I've been collecting, using and selling tubes for about 15 years. My experience has been that most used tubes are still very good, without problems....well over 90% of my collection.
It was only a few weeks ago that I found the absolute need to swap out a tube....the first time in many many years. A 5Y3 died.
Prior to this failure, the only failures I can remember was many years ago when I lost two EL 34s in the Jadis, a few weeks apart from each other. We know where those were made.
